Storm Eleanor results in disruption of power, as it sweeps across the UK

Thousands of homes are without power and travel has been disrupted after Storm Eleanor swept across the UK. The UK Met Office recorded gusts of wind reaching 100 miles per hour, overnight. A 'yellow warning' is still in place for England, Wales, most of Northern Ireland and parts of southern Scotland. There are numerous road closures and delays on public transport. More than 4000 homes across England, Wales and Northern Ireland are without power. As Storm Eleanor approached from the Atlantic, the UK Met Office cautioned that injuries from flying debris were also possible.
