Anil Kumble has stepped down as India head coach after a year in charge because his "partnership" with captain Virat Kohli was "untenable". Kumble said Kohli had "reservations" about his coaching style. The Board of Control for Cricket in India advertised the head coach's job in May but "endorsed an extension" to Kumble's one-year deal.

India says it will not allow any bilateral cricket against Pakistan until the “cross-border terrorism” ends.

Indian Sports Minister Vijay Goel today made it clear that the government will not allow any bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan till the time “cross-border terrorism” does not stop.

The Minister’s firm statement comes on a day the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Pakistan Cricket Board are meeting in Dubai to discuss their bilateral ties, which have remained suspended since 2012 due to diplomatic tensions after terror attacks in India. He also said that the BCCI should speak to the government before giving any proposal to Pakistan.

The governing body would need the backing of the Premier League, the English Football League and the Professional Footballers' Association to introduce the rule change.

But it is understood they are broadly supportive and already in agreement. Under the proposed new rules, a panel would review footage from the weekend each Monday looking for cases of simulation. Any player unanimously found guilty of diving would be given a suspension.
