The 2nd test between Sri Lanka and India will begin in Nagpur today. Captain Dinesh Chandimal says his players are confident with pressurizing Indian team in this game. Our fielding also has made a huge difference there’s a lot of energy. We have looked at a six-five combination or six-four plus all-rounder he said. India will be without two of their top players opener Shikhar Dhawan and fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was man of the match at Kolkata after having a match bag of eight wickets. Both have opted out on personal grounds.

Tonia Couch retires

Three-time Olympian Tonia Couch has announced her retirement from diving, after a 12-year senior career. Couch, is one of Britain's most decorated female divers having won silver at Glasgow's Commonwealth Games in 2014 and three European medals. She last competed at the World Championships in July. She will now take up a coaching role in her home city of Plymouth.

Sri Lanka tour of India ends in a draw due to bad weather

The first test match between Sri Lanka and India that was played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata resulted in a draw, due to bad weather. In the 1st innings India were all out for 172 runs, while Sri Lanka had scored 294 runs.  In the 2nd innings, India scored 352 runs. In reply Sri Lanka were 75 runs, for the loss of 7 wickets.

Sri Lanka resume search for first Test win in India. The first test match between Sri Lanka and India will begin today at Kolkata , eden gardens ground. Dinesh Chandimal will lead the Sri Lankan team while Virat Kohli will lead the Strong Indian team. However india is under pressure to maintain its no 01 position in the test cricket ratings. Sri Lanka are a young side with some hope of toppling the top side with the confidence of winning the previous test series against Pakistan away from home.

Sri Lanka hosts the 11th World Military Golf Championship

 

The 11th World Military Golf Championship with golfers from Bahrain, Canada, Estonia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, USA and Zimbabwe for the first time, is now underway allowing golfers to enjoy eight days of tournament play in Sri Lanka. The opening ceremony took place yesterday at the Eagle’s Golf Links in China Bay, Trincomalee, headed by Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, as Chief Guest. Sri Lanka participated in the 10th World Military Golf Championship, held in the Netherlands in 2016. This is the first time Sri Lanka is hosting a Golf Championship of this magnitude.

Sri Lanka cricket team departs island for a tour in India

Sri Lanka cricket team will start a tour in India today. At a ceremony held in Sri Lanka Cricket prior to departure, skipper Dinesh Chandimal said his team is ready accept the challenges of strong Indian team. The first test against India will begin on the 16th.

The 11th World Military Golf Championship - 2017 is to be held in Trincomalee this month.

 

The 11th World Military Golf Championship - 2017 is to be held at the Air Force Eagles' Golf Links in China Bay, Trincomalee from 12th -19th of this month. The tournament will be held under the patronage the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne. This is the first international golf tournament to be held in Sri Lanka. The tournament will see 84 players from 12 countries competing with each other for the championship trophy. The Sri Lankan team is represented by six male and three female golfers. A highlight of this tournament is the participation of female players for the first time. In addition 27 officials from the International Military Sports Council will officiate during the championship.
