Several MPs point out the image loss caused to the country during the last regime.

Parliamentarian Indika Anuruddha says that sole solution for the prevailing political crisis is the holding of a general election. Addressing a news conference at the Prime Minister's Office this morning he said that the president has constitutionally appointed the new Government and the Prime minister. If the opposition says that these appointments are not made legally they can go before the Supreme Court.
Mr.Anuruddha also said that, Mr.Ranil Wickremasinghe is mis-appropriating public property, while remaining at Temple Trees. He said that the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna did not oppose him when the United National Party was putting the country towards destruction.
MP Sanath Nishantha said that, the security of the country has collapsed during the last three and a half years. The previous regime cut fertilizer subsidy and change the provision of school uniforms and the payment of Samurdhi allowances. Duty on wheat flour was changed and the decision has affected the farmers. The milk farmers didn't get a fair price.
The Hambanthota port has been given to a foreign country. MP Sanath Nishantha said that, the central bank was brought under the former prime minister and a foreigner was appointed as the governor of the central bank and a huge bond scam occurred. Information on an assassination attempt on president was revealed and it was prevented after the appointment of the new prime minister
