Five billion rupees has been set aside for interest relief in the loan schemes offered under Enterprise Sri Lanka

Minister of Finance: Mangala Samaraweera, joining in the inauguration of the 'Enterprise Sri Lanka Lending Counter' at the Bank of Ceylon Branch in Mullaithivu said, five billion rupees has been set aside for interest relief of the loan schemes under Enterprise Sri Lanka. These loans are provided under half-interest rates or as interest free loans.
Loan counters at People's Bank and the Rural Development Bank were also opened. Initiating the Gamperaliya Development Drive in the Mullaithivu District, construction work of the main bus stand also commenced under the patronage of the the Minister.

Meanwhile, participating in the Subharathi Discussion Programme aired over the SLBC this morning, Bank of Ceylon's Deputy General Manager of Retail Banking: DMLB Dissanayake said, as a responsible state bank, it will provide its fullest support to the government in its endeavour to uplift the living standards of the people, through Enterprise Sri Lanka. He further stated, together with the special counter opened at all branches, awareness programmes have been launched at district level. He particularly stated, it is necessary for entrepreneurs to properly draft their project plans when submitting them to the bank.
