The court case relating to misappropriation of funds in Tharunyata Hetak movement involving three persons including Nalaka Godahewa will be taken up for investigation on the 16th of October

The case filed against Securities and Exchange Commission former Chairman Nalaka Godahewa and two others, in connection with their alleged involvement in conspiring to misappropriate 5 million rupees belonging to the SEC was yesterday fixed for trial on October 16 by the Colombo High Court.

When the case came up before High Court Judge R. Gurusinghe, Defence Counsel appeared on behalf of the accused sought a further trial date citing that his senior counsel was not present in court since he is suffering from an illness.

Three accused were indicted on three counts under the Public Property Act. The Attorney General further alleged that the three accused had committed this offense between August 6 and 18, 2013.
