Parliamentarian Rohini Kumari Wijerathne says it is the UNP that empowered women in the country.

Parliamentarian Rohini Kumari Wijerathne says that the real aim of fighting against corruption can only be fulfilled by electing more women candidates for the local government bodies at the upcoming polls. The government has allocated a 25 percent quota for the women in politics, but it is the responsibility of the voters to elect women candidates as much as possible. Mrs.wijerathne further said that women candidates from the political parties that respects women, in their policies must be elected.

The UNP is the party that is committed to strengthen and empower the rural women.  Parliamentarian Rohini Kumari Wijerathne further said that, some local politicians from some parties, made teachers knelt down in front of them.
