World Leaders congratulate the president on the occasion of the 70th national independence day.

Several world leaders have sent their Congratulatory messages to President Maithripala Sirisena on the occasion of the country's 70th National Independence Day. The Queen Elizabeth II of the Great Britain in her message says that the relationship between the two countries has continued to grow, and it is her hope that the connections between our people continue to flourish in the years to come. President of the United states of America Donald Trump in his congratulatory message to the president on the 70th independence celebration says that, Sri Lanka, under the leadership of President Maithripala Sirisena is becoming a super state, with reconciliation, accountability and justice. He expresses his hope that Sri Lanka would achieve objectives of reconciliation and prosperity.

The Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the cooperation between Sri Lanka and Russia will further strengthen.
Chinese President Xi Peng says that the traditional and long standing friendship between Sri Lanka and China will further strengthen in a practical manner under the present president of Sri Lanka. He expects to enhance this leadership in a way that people in both countries enjoying more benefits.

Emperor Akihitho of Japan wishes prosperity for the people in Sri Lanka on this independence day.
