The Chief Minister and Provincial Education Minister of Uva province Chamara Sampath Dasanayaka has resigned from the post of Provincial Education Minister this morning

The Chief Minister and Provincial Education Minister of Uva province Chamara Sampath Dasanayaka has resigned from the post of provincial education minister this morning. Mr. Dasanayaka informed the public through a media conference held at Uva province chief minister's office this morning. Addressing the gathering, the chief minister further said he resigned from the education portfolio to leave room for an impartial inquiry on to the recent incident with regard to a punishment of a school principal.

The chief minister requested the provincial governor and IGP to conduct a comprehensive investigation onto this incident. The alleged incident describes that a school principal of Badulla Tamil Maha Vidyalaya has been summoned to chief minister's office and punished for not following an instruction. The chief minister rejects the allegation. However, the chief minister requests the relevant officials to conduct an impartial comprehensive investigation in this regard.
