New legislation to remove obstacles in the path of apprehending those involved in fraud and malpractice.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says new laws will be formulated to eliminate the existing legal barriers that stand in the way when taking action against culprits who are responsible for massive frauds and corruption. Addressing an election propaganda rally in Homagama the premier said, a cabinet paper has already been prepared to set up a special High Court to accelerate the hearing of cases against corruption. The attorney general will be given powers to file such cases directly in the proposed High Court.
