The Prime Minister says education facilities will be given not only to Colombo but also to rural areas.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe says education facilities will be given not only to Colombo but also to rural areas. The government's aim is to provide equal facilities to provincial schools and create a competition of education between Colombo and other provinces. The education should be free from politicisation. The premier made these remarks at a ceremony held in Siddartha central college in Balapitiya yesterday to mark the centenary of the school and to declare open the new technology faculty in the school.

The prime Minister further said that the students should be equipped with new vocational skills in order to win the international job market. Therefore students will be given two years vocational training at school level in the last 2 years of their education.IT knowledge is also essential for students to compete with international students. Then the Sri Lankan youth may not have any difficulty in finding out employment opportunities. The premier also expressed confidence that school students can be provided with Tabs within few years.
