The Prime Minister says the government is committed to secure the wellbeing of the Buddha Shasana.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe says the government has implemented a number of programmes for the wellbeing of the Buddha Shasana. Special attention has been focused to make the people closer with Buddhist principals.
The government has also started programmes to steer the country towards prosperity. The Prime Minister made these remarks at the ceremony held at Sri Sudharshanarama ancient temple in Karapitiya, Galle to unveil the pinnacle of newly constructed Dagaba. 
Addressing the gathering the Prime Minister said construction of 12 new factories started during the past week islandwide. An industrial zone will also be set up in 350 acres land in Darlin mount estate in Weligama. European Union has offered GSP Plus concession to Sri Lanka again and the ban on exporting fish to Europe has also been removed.
These all positive moves are due to the transparent and good governance policies of the present government. The international community is satisfied with the government’s measures taken to strengthen democracy and protect human rights.
