A compromised budget to be presented - Finance Minister

The President stresses that’s all institutions in the country should be independent and impartial.

President Maithripala Sirisena says he will apply an impartial policy for the well being of the country. Therefore all institutions an officials in the country should act impartial and independent. The ETF Board is to provide 9 thousand scholarships to grade five students.

The Employees' Trust Fund Board says applications are now accepted from its members to offer scholarships to their children who have passed Grade 5 scholarship examination with higher marks. The closing date is 30th of this month.

Former MP Tissa Attanayake remanded till 5th of December

Former parliamentarian Tissa Attanayake has been remanded till the 5th of December. The police have filed a case against him for preparing a forged document using the signature of leader of the United National Party Ranil Wickremasinghe. The case is heard before the Colombo high court.
