Intellectuals thoroughly condemn the aim of the JVP to use the future generation to appease their political mileages. Vice Chancellor of the University of Uva Wellassa Professor Ranjith Hemalal De Silva told SLBC that it cannot be justify at any ground using the education system of the country to orchestrate protests against the government. The JVP claims that there are loopholes in the issued Z-scores.
The professor noted that the JVP or other parties who protest against z-scores have no clear idea about the calculation of z-score system. The Vice Chancellor also admire the initiative took by the President to appoint special committee to inquire the issue raised on the G.C.E. A-level results. Professor of the Department of the Economics of the University of Kelaniya Sunanda Maddumabandara said that the issue should be taken into the account sans petty politics. Professor of Science Faculty of the Sri Jayawardenapura University Sudantha Liyanage said that technical errors could be occurred when feeding marks into the online system. He noted that z-scores of the G.C.E. A-Level Examination were prepared by a committee of University Professors. Professor Sudantha further said that all errors have been rectified, at present. |
