A high level meeting of SAARC police officers will be held in Kathmandu in September.


A conference of high-ranking police officials of SAARC countries will be held in Kathmandu in September with the objective of strengthening cooperation among law enforcement agencies of this region. This was disclosed by
Napali Minister for Home Affairs Janardan Sharma who returned home after participating in a two-day meeting of SAARC home ministers in Colombo of Sri Lanka . A press release issued by the Ministry of Home the home minister-level meeting of SAARC countries decided to develop SAARC Visa Exemption Sticker Scheme to simplify visa process for the people in the region. “
The meeting dwelt on ways to make ‘SAARC Offence Monitoring Desk’ and ‘SAARC Drugs Offence Monitoring Desk’ more effective. During the meeting, SAARC home ministers discussed terrorism, cross-border crimes, cybercrime, drug smuggling and foolproof security arrangement.
