The President leaves to India to address the WHO summit on Tobacco control.

President Maithripala Sirisena will leave the country for India this evening to take part in a special Summit of the World Health Organization on Control the use of Tobacco. The President will deliver the lecture of the invitee. The Summit will begin in New Delhi under the patronage of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tomorrow. Sri Lankan President's lecture at this summit will be very significant as Sri Lanka is the first country that has implemented WHO policies on controlling the use of tobacco and related products. A special meeting between the Sri Lankan and his Indian counterpart will also be scheduled in this evening.
