The former JVP MP K.D.Lal Kantha says that the Tamil National Alliance is using the devolution issue achieve their political objectives.  Devolving land and police powers will never solve the national issue of this country. Joining the Dasa Desin programme of the SLBC the former JVP MP said that no result can be expected by devolving land and police powers. Similarly 13th amendment or the provincial councils are not solutions for the national issue. He said that this question arising from time to time suppressors the problems of the country that require solutions. During the western colonial era, the colonialists created disunity among the Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim people in order to achieve their political and economic objectives. The creation of disunity among the communities was the reason for the national question. He said the Tamil National Alliance, the Muslim Congress, India and the Sinhala parties in the South prevented amity among the people in this manner. He reiterated that devolution of power is not a solution for the national question. Mr. Lal Kantha pointed out that what Sri Lanka need to do at the moment to build a single nation as a Sri Lankan nation.
