The City FM channel of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation has become a trilingual channel with effect from today. President’s Advisor Dr. Sunimal Fernando says this decision would pave the way for making Sri Lanka a trilingual country as the President’s wish. This will also help to increase communal harmony between all communities in the country.

From today onwards all programmes, songs and announcements will be presented in all the three languages. The chairman of the SLBC Mr. Hudson Samarasinghe said that in order to make the trilingual policy of the government more close to the people the City FM service has been made a trilingual service.

Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunga and many senior public officials also felicitated the new trilingual service.
