Oman comes forward to extend support to Sri Lanka in the event of any international fuel crisis PDF Print E-mail

Minister Susil Premajayantha says that Oman is ready to extend assistance to Sri Lanka if a need arises. 

The minister made these remarks at a discussion with the minister of oil and gas of the government of Oman Dr. Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Roumi at the ministry of Petroleum resources this evening.  The visiting Oman minister has conducted talks with the president, minister of foreign affairs Prof G.L.Peiris and Minister Basil Rajapakse yesterday. Minister Premajayanth added that the talks were cantered on further enhancing bilateral relations in the fields of trade oil and related industries. He further said that opinions were also exchanged in connection with the tourism industry as well. The Minister added that a Sri Lankan delegation is expected to visit Oman within the next few weeks. An official delegation from Oman is also scheduled to visit Sri Lanka as well.

 

Oman Foreign Minister Dr.Mohammed al Roumi also said that Sri Lanka is achieving rapid progress taking advantage of the peaceful environment. The minister further pointed out on the possibility of exploration on continuous investing in the local refinery sector. Sri Lanka is a country with enormous investment potentials. The Minister   added that he had explained the situation to the Omani investors.

Minister Dr. Bin Hamad al Roumi has appreciated the friendship of the Sri Lankan public adding that he visited many parts of the country.
