Sri Lanka wins Awards at the Houston Film Festival for the first time. |

Sri Lanka won the Best Award at the 43rd International Houston Cinema Festival held in the USA. Director of Sinhala Film Bambara Walalla (The Hornet Circle)
Athula Liyanage was honoured with the special award of the Jury. The film was selected for this special award out of 2,400 films in the festival. In addition Camera Director of the film Thishula Deepa Thambawita was honoured with the Best Award for Camera. This is the first time Sri Lankan film artists won awards at the Houston Film Festival.
