The second phase of the construction of the Norachcholai coal power plant will be launched today under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
It is expected to add 600 megawatts of power to the national grid after the completion of the project. The first phase of the power plant added 300 megawatts to the national grid. Accordingly, when completed the power plant will add 900 megawatts to the national grid. 13.5 million dollars will be spent on constructing the power plant. |
