Minister of Human Rights and Disaster Management Mahinda Samarasinghe will meet the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights Navaneedan Pillei today. The minister and Attorney General Mohan Pieris left the island yesterday to hold this meeting. During the meeting the Minister will inform the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights, the government’s stance on the statement made by Sarath Fonseka during the presidential election betraying the whole Sri Lankan nation.  Meanwhile, during the visit Minister Samarasinghe is also to meet United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees Antonio Gutainos. At the meeting attention will be focused on the progress of the resettlement process. Further more the Sri Lankan government will have to express its stance on the statement made by Sarath Fonseka at the special session of United Nations that will be held on next month. Ministry of Human Rights and Disaster Management says this visit will help to create a suitable background for it.
