Russia to loan 300 million dollars for future development activities in Sri Lanka. |

Russia has pledged a loan assistance of 300 million US dollars for future development activities in Sri Lanka. The pledge was made by Russian President Dimitri Medvedev at a discussion this evening with President Mahinda Rajapakse at Kremlin. The Russian president appreciated president Rajapakse for selecting Russia for his first foreign tour after his momentous election victory. The two leaders also discussed several bilateral and international issues. President Rajapakse expressed a special thank you to the Russian president for Russian support during the battle against terrorism. The visiting president also met the Sri Lanka - Russian business community this evening.
