President Mahinda Rajapaksa points out trade union actions can be a platform for hidden international conspiracies. Therefore, he urges all trade union representatives to remain watchful on this matter. Working community has their own rights. It is the responsibility of a democratic government to provide justifiable solutions for them. President Rajapaksa says as a government that honours democracy his administration has taken maximum measures to provide those solutions. However, certain parties can attempt to create difficulties for the government by creating shortage of essential items. The working community also contributed immensely for the victories achieved by the nation. However, certain politicians who are politically bankrupted are trying to fulfil their narrow political objectives by launching conspiracies against the government. The President requested trade union activists to act wisely identifying those hidden conspiracies.  Speaking at a meeting held with trade union representatives at Temple Trees this morning he pointed out Sri Lanka had to face international pressure during the last couple of months. Accusations of Human rights violation and using rape as a weapon in the war by the Sri Lankan Army as well as the proposal taken at the UN Security Council against Sri Lanka were some of the challenges that the country had to face. The President says however, all these challenges were overcome by the government because it acted strategically identifying the conspirators. He also added that any conspiracy can be defeated till the people are with the government.
